Men's Basketball Splits in Road Trip

The Corning Community College men's basketball team had a tough road trip this weekend playing at Adirondack CC on Saturday and then facing Hudson Valley CC on Sunday.  Corning beat ACC Saturday 77-62 thanks in part to a great team defensive effort.  ACC managed only 12 points in the hirst half and were held scoreless for a span of 12-minutes.  Isaiah Jennings led the way with 21 points while Jabari Hibbert scored 16 points and grabbed 8 rebounds.  Christian Simmons scored 13 and grabbed 11 rebounds, Tamar Jackson also had a double-double with 11 points and boards.  On Sunday at Hudson Valley, the Red Barons fell 85-77.  At halftime the game was a two-point affair and remained that way until the 10-minute mark.  The Vikings went on a 9-0 run at that point and Corning could never catch up.  Jabari Hibbert scored 15 points and Jackson added 15 and 9 rebounds.  Simmons had 14 points and 6 rebounds, Jon Ward scored 13 points and Raequann Scott added 10 points and dished 6 assists.

Corning will host Scheectady and Columbia Greene CC this weekend to end the first semester of play.  Tip off is scheduled for 3pm both days.
