The Corning Community College Women's Soccer team started the season with a bang as they beat their guests, Mercyhurst Noth East 9-0 Saturday afternoon. Emily Smoth scored an unassisted goal 4 minutes into the game and the Red Barons never looked back. A minute later, Mackenzie Warner scored on a Victoria Finn through ball to make it 2-0 Corning. In the 23rd minute of play, Finn scored her first collegiate goal with a boot from 30-yards out that sailed over the top of the keepers head and into the back of the net. Corning would score 4 more times before halftime; Carleigh Wallace scored on a Brooke Levesque assit, Finn scored again unassisted, Finn again courtesy of a Chelsey Seeley assist and then Finn scored her 4th goal of the day on an assist from Smith. In second half action, Mackenzie Warner scored on a PK and Levesaque got her first collegiate goal on a Finn assist. Corning keeper Morgan Price recorded 4 saves on the day.
