Red Barons Push Win Streak to 6 After Win Over TC3
The Corning Community College Women's Basketball team won their 6th straight game after defeating Tompkins Cortland at home 72-61.
The Corning Community College women's basketball team made it six straight on their home floor, pulling away from Tompkins Cortland Community College for a 72–61 win. It's the longest win streak for the Red Barons since the early 2000s.
Taylorrae Jones set the tone, pouring in a season-high 20 points for her first 20 point game of the year. She was relentless on the glass as well, hauling in nine rebounds and controlling the paint on both ends.
Addison Coolican delivered one of her most efficient performances of the season, matching a career-high with 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting. The freshman stuffed the stat sheet with seven rebounds and six assists, impacting the game in every phase. Fellow freshman Sarah Reichert nearly flirted with a triple-double, finishing with 12 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists. Corning now sits at 11–4 in Region 3 Division III play with three games to play in the regular season.
The Red Barons return to their home court Saturday, February 14th, for their final regular-season home game against Jefferson Community College. The afternoon will also serve as Sophomore Day, as Lily Hancock, Taylorrae Jones, Rhi Perkins, and Danica Dresser are honored for their contributions to the program.
